Strangers No More: Immigration and the Challenges of Integration in North America and Western Europe

Book launch Richard Alba and Nancy Foner

30 September 2015

On Monday October 12, professor Richard Alba and professor Nancy Foner (both from City University New York) will present their new book entitled 'Strangers No More: Immigration and the Challenges of Integration in North America and Western Europe'.

It is one of the first books to compare immigrant integration on both sides of the Atlantic. Focusing on low-status newcomers and their children, it examines how they are making their way in four critical European countries—France, Germany, Great Britain, and the Netherlands—as well as in the United States and Canada.

The reception of the professors Alba and Foner is co-organised by the VU University Amsterdam and UvA. Please click through the link below for more information on this thought-provoking but lively event.
