On March 24, together with IMES (Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies), CUS will organize a lunch seminar where Prof. Roger Waldinger will discuss his latest work.

Roger Waldinger is a leading sociologist of migration who has worked on a wide range of topics including the social, political, and economic consequences of international migration; the policies and politics emerging in response to its advent;  the links between immigrants and the countries and people they have left behind. He is the author of over 100 articles and book chapters and seven books, including “The Cross-Border Connection: Immigrants, Emigrants, and their Homelands” (2015), “Still the Promised City? New Immigrants and African-Americans in Post-Industrial New York” (1996) and “Ethnic Los Angeles” (1996).

Maurice Crul, Professor of Sociology at the VU University Amsterdam will discuss Prof. Roger Waldinger’s work and CUS member Floris Vermeulen, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam, will moderate the discussion.
