Institute for Migration & Ethnic Studies
IMES is a multidisciplinary and interfaculty research centre that focuses on international migration and the integration of immigrants and their descendants in host societies in a comparative perspective.
IMES is part of the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR) and is open to all researchers who are interested in the thematic fields of integration and migration and can contribute to the centre's activities.
IMES seeks to contribute to a budding debate around Mobility as the new paradigmatic perspective in the social sciences, by fostering a dialogue across academic disciplines and promoting intellectual reflexivity. Our actitivities include:

The network is open to PhD's from any country and our general meetings (2 times a year) might occasionally take place outside the Netherlands. By connecting online (see our LinkedIn group), PhD's can create sub-groups in their geographical region or just share information online.
